The issue of child crime involving migrants has worsened in Germany
An increase in child crime involving migrants has been recorded in German schools. This was reported by the German newspaper Bild on September 22.
According to the German Ministry of the Interior (MIA), which cites the publication, last year almost 2.8 thousand students became victims of crimes. Every day, 15 boys and girls are beaten, threatened, insulted or humiliated on school grounds. Compared to 2018, an increase in crime was recorded — it amounted to 46%.
According to Bild, the number of cases of violence against teachers has similarly increased — an increase of 158%. Last year, 157 teachers in Baden-Wuerttemberg were injured, insulted or bullied by male students, the agency notes.
It is specified that 36% of suspects who have committed violent crimes are foreigners. The authors of the material claim that in addition to students, their parents are also increasingly resorting to psychological violence when communicating with teachers. At the same time, violence in schools is a taboo topic in public discussion, the newspaper notes.
On September 1, Bild reported that in Germany, a migrant from Iraq pushed a 16-year-old refugee from Ukraine under a freight train, the girl died. She was returning from class and waiting for the train on the platform. It is clarified that the police initially mistook the incident for an accident.
