Kim Jong-un declared the impossibility of unification of the DPRK and South Korea
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said that Pyongyang will not seek unification with South Korea, as the countries have become "completely incompatible." This was reported on September 22 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"The Republic of Korea is Americanized in all areas and is a half-paralyzed, ugly formation, a dependent state. This is a completely alien country," Kim Jong-un stressed.
According to him, "just as water and fire are incompatible, independent politics and the policy of subordination to strong powers are also incompatible." The North Korean leader added that Pyongyang will consolidate at the legislative level the provision that the North and the South are "two different states that cannot unite."
Earlier, on September 14, Kim Jong-un's sister, Kim Yo-jong, warned Seoul against participating in the Iron Mace military exercises jointly with the United States and Japan. She said that such actions would be regarded by Pyongyang as a manifestation of hostility and a continuation of a confrontational policy.
