European countries should be ready to continue helping Ukraine, even if the United States reduces its support. This opinion was expressed on September 19 by the US President's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, in an interview with The Telegraph newspaper.

"It's better to be prepared. I don't think America will completely abandon [support], but it's better for Europe to stand firm," Kellogg said.

According to him, at the moment, European states are practically self-sufficient in the issue of military support for Ukraine.

On September 17, Reuters reported that weapons purchased from the United States under the NATO program had been sent to Ukraine. According to Patrick Turner, a senior representative of the alliance in Ukraine, four packages have been funded under the PURL priority needs program (list of priority requirements of Ukraine).

Later, on September 19, it became known that Western countries would like to limit themselves to investing billions of dollars in the development of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex (MIC) as an alternative to providing Kiev with guarantees of joining the NATO military bloc. Some countries, including Denmark, Canada, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, will invest $1.5 billion in the production of artillery, missiles, attack drones and anti-tank systems in Ukraine.
