Details of the indexation of military pensions in Russia from October 1 have become known.

Starting from October 1, 2025, military pensions will be indexed by 7.6%. This is provided for by a decree of the Russian government on increasing the salary of military personnel, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Initially, according to the April amendments, it was planned to index by 4.5%. However, later the Ministry of Defense proposed to increase the indexation coefficient to 1,076, which would provide an increase of 7.6%, RBC added.

In addition, at the beginning of 2025, military pensions were indexed to reflect official inflation for 2024 by 9.5%. As a result, the amount of monetary allowance increased from 89.83% to 93.59%. In October 2024, military pensions were increased by 5.1%, which led to an additional supplement of 4.4% from January 1, 2025, amounting to 9.5% in total with the October increase.

Since April 1, 2025, social pensions have also been increased by 14.75%. They will be followed by indexed pensions for participants of the Great Patriotic War, awarded the badges "Resident of besieged Leningrad", "Resident of besieged Sevastopol" and "Resident of besieged Stalingrad", as well as pensions for conscripted military personnel and some other citizens.

Additionally, some additional payments have been increased for military retirees, in particular for those who have dependents. The amount of such an estimated payment, including indexing, is 8824.08 rubles.

On September 8, the head of the Fair Russia — For Truth (SRDP) political party, Sergei Mironov, proposed indexing pensions in Russia quarterly, four times a year. In addition, he recalled the initiative to introduce the 13th pension for Russians. The parliamentarian added that an amendment to this will be introduced at the autumn session of the State Duma.

On August 27, Govyrin announced that pensions for the disabled, for citizens over 80 years old, insurance pensions and survivor's pensions will be increased in 2026. Insurance pensions will be indexed in February and April 2026. Thus, the payment for people with disabilities from childhood of group I and children with disabilities will amount to about 23 thousand rubles.
