British aircraft of the Royal Air Force (RAF) will begin flying over Poland in the coming days, after the country was attacked by alleged Russian drones. This was reported on September 15 by The Standard newspaper.

"Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the UK will provide additional air defense over Poland after the incident last week, during which NATO forces shot down several drones," the media writes.

Typhoon fighters will take off from Coningsby Air Force Base in Lincolnshire and join the NATO Eastern Guard mission, flying over Poland along with aircraft from Denmark, France and Germany. They will be supported by a Voyager tanker aircraft from Breeze Norton Air Force Base in Oxfordshire.

Meanwhile, on September 15, the British Foreign Ministry was unable to provide Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin with evidence that the Russian military was involved in launching unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into Poland.

On September 10, the Operational Command of the branches of the Polish Armed Forces (RFA) reported on the defeat of several drones by the Polish military that violated the country's airspace. On September 14, Polish President Karol Nawrocki signed an agreement for NATO troops to stay in the country. On September 12, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced the launch of the Eastern Guard initiative to strengthen the defense of the alliance's member countries. He added that the initiative will be conducted with the participation of many allies of the North Atlantic Alliance, including Denmark, France, Britain and Germany.
