The State Duma reacted to reports of a drone incident over Romania
Statements that the drone (UAV) that violated Romanian airspace belongs to Russia are nonsense. Alexey Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, expressed this opinion on Monday, September 15.
"This is nonsense. Someone flew in and flew back out. They flew in from Ukraine, flew out from Ukraine, and blamed Russia for this. <...> When they say that this has happened repeatedly, it is most likely that this is Ukraine. He can't fly in and out, even if he did, it would be by mistake. From the point of view of intelligence, this is nonsense, because no one needs it," the deputy said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .
On September 13, Antena 3 reported the interception of an alleged Russian drone by the Romanian Air Force. It was clarified that this incident was recorded 20 km from the city of Tulcha, located near Ukraine.
On September 14, Russian Ambassador Vladimir Lipaev was summoned to the Romanian Foreign Ministry, where he was protested over an incident involving alleged Russian drones violating state borders.
According to the diplomat, during the conversation at the department, not a single answer was given to the questions he posed about the identification of the UAV that allegedly flew into Romanian airspace, RT reports.
Due to the lack of objective confirmation of the drone's nationality, the protest was dismissed as far-fetched and unfounded. 360.ru .
