European countries were alarmed by the restrained reaction of US President Donald Trump to the incident with drones in Poland. This was reported on September 13 by the Reuters news agency, citing European diplomats.

"Trump's restrained reaction was widely regarded as another example of his 'America first' commitment, encouraging European allies to take more responsibility for their own security," the publication says.

It is noted that many NATO countries question Trump's desire to participate in the defense of Europe in the event of conflicts.

On September 12, Trump announced that he would not protect anyone in the drone situation in Poland. In addition, earlier in the day, the US president did not rule out that the situation with unmanned aerial vehicles in Poland could be due to a mistake.

On September 10, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces of Poland (RFA) reported on the defeat of several drones by the Polish military that violated the country's airspace. Later, the Reuters news agency, citing sources in NATO, said that the alliance did not regard the incident with the drone in Poland as an attack.
