The Council for the Development of the Beer and Non-alcoholic industry, created on the initiative of the Baltika company, held its first open meeting on Saturday, September 13. The event was attended by leading experts and representatives of the largest companies in the industry.
The first meeting was opened by Taimuraz Bolloev, Chairman of the Board and founder of Baltika. He stressed the importance of this event, which will become a driving force for solving urgent problems in the industry.
Current Board members CEO of AB InBev Efes JSC (Drinks Together) Nikolay Tyurnikov, Dmitry Kiselyov, Chairman of the Board of the Association of the Federal Self-Regulatory Organization of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia, and Igor Khavsky, Chairman of the Opora Russia Commission for the production and turnover of brewing products, supported the need to unite the market to create common rules in order to form a strong and responsibly developing industry.
The meeting was also joined by future members of the Board, industry leaders and experts: Alexey Sagal, President of OPH, Arnest JSC, Elena Tyukina, founder of Knightberg Brewery, and Alexander Georgievich Adyrkhaev, co-founder of Gellert Bar LLC. They were admitted to the Council in accordance with the established procedure.
During the meeting, the participants discussed current challenges and prospects for the development of the brewing industry in Russia, as well as identified strategic directions for the Council's work. Special attention was paid to the need to create favorable conditions for the development of the industry, the formation of an expertise center, the development of the raw material base and the introduction of innovative technologies.
The participants intend to develop a unified approach to solving pressing problems and prepare proposals for the development of regulation of the production of beer and non-alcoholic products.
"Brewers have done a lot of work in recent years. Despite the high taxes and restrictions, the industry continues to develop and improve. We invest in technology, equipment and agriculture, and support the development of the non-alcoholic segment. A new government policy is needed for the sustainable growth of the Russian brewing industry. Our goal is to raise the prestige of the profession of a brewer and Russian beer, to make our product a symbol of quality and culture. Together, we will create a strong national brand that can gain a foothold in the international market," Bolloev said.
The Council for the Development of the Beer and Non-alcoholic Industry will continue to work to consolidate the efforts of all market participants to support and grow the domestic industry.
Earlier in the day, the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, noted the contribution of engineers, workers, technologists and the management of the Baltika brewing company to the development of the company. According to him, the work of those involved has helped it become a leading company not only in Russia, but also around the world.
