The Qatari Prime Minister pointed to Israel's attempts to disrupt the peace talks on Gaza

By attacking the negotiating delegation of the Palestinian Hamas movement located in Qatar, Israel demonstrated its desire to disrupt attempts to establish peace in the Gaza Strip and its indifference to the lives of the hostages. This was announced on September 11 by the Prime Minister of the Arab state Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

"The attack on our territory <...> revealed Israel's premeditated intentions to thwart any attempts at peace and prolong the human suffering of the fraternal Palestinian people. <...> It also shows that the extremists ruling in Israel today do not value the lives of the hostages, and their release is not a priority for them," he said at a meeting of the UN Security Council.

Al Thani stressed that journalists and representatives of diplomatic missions were aware that representatives of the Hamas negotiating delegation officially lived in the residential complex attacked by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), therefore, the violation of Qatar's sovereignty puts the entire international system "to a serious test."

The Prime Minister added that Qatar, which is a supporter of peace, will continue to fulfill its humanitarian and diplomatic role in resolving the conflict, but with the help of means provided for by international law, it can respond to encroachment on its sovereignty.
