Poland has sent a notification to Belarus about its plans to close the remaining existing checkpoints on the border from September 12. This was announced on September 11 by the State Border Committee of Belarus.

"Today, the State Border Committee received an official notification from the Border Guard of the Republic of Poland about the closure from 01:00 on September 12, Belarusian time (coincides with Moscow time. - ed.) of the remaining existing international checkpoints on the Belarusian-Polish border," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that the Polish side promised to inform additionally about the timing of the opening of checkpoints.

According to the Belarusian border guards, by Thursday afternoon, 1,600 cars, 300 trucks and 70 buses had accumulated in front of the Terespol (Brest) and Kukuryki (Kozlovichi) border crossings.

On the same day, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) announced that Poland had restricted traffic along the border with Belarus and Ukraine. The restrictions have entered into force and will remain in effect until December 9th of this year. It is specified that flights in the border area are prohibited, excluding manned aircraft operating in accordance with the flight plan with the appropriate transponders.

On September 10, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov called the decision of the Polish authorities to close the border with the republic during the Belarusian-Russian Zapad-2025 exercises anti-popular. Ryzhenkov added that such actions by the Polish authorities undermine their international image and show their true colors.
