The special Representatives of Armenia and Turkey may reach some interim agreements, but they will not be able to fully resolve all issues. This was stated by Alexander Krylov, Chief Researcher at the Caucasus Sector of the Center for Post-Soviet Studies at the IMEMO RAS, in an interview with Izvestia.

"Turkey supports Azerbaijan in its confrontation with Armenia. Ankara says bluntly that there will be no normalization until Yerevan and Baku settle their relations and sign a peace treaty. To do this, Armenia needs to carry out a constitutional reform, which, apparently, will not happen before 2027. Accordingly, only some cosmetic solutions are possible now, but no more," he explained.

Earlier it became known that in mid-September, the special representatives of the two countries, Ruben Rubinyan and Serdar Kilic, will meet at the land border of Armenia and Turkey. The establishment of diplomatic relations and the opening of the border will be on the agenda.

The first meeting of the Special Representatives of Yerevan and Ankara, Ruben Rubinyan and Serdar Kilic, took place in January 2022. Shortly after, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan admitted that the borders between the countries could be opened.
