On September 8, Moscow hosted the opening of a new building of the N.N. Blokhin National Research Medical Center for Oncology.

"This is the largest cancer center in Europe. There are almost 400 thousand square meters, which include both clinical and scientific departments. Therefore, the possibilities of this center are enormous," Sergey Murashko, Minister of Health, told Izvestia.

The area of the new consulting and diagnostic department is more than 10 thousand square meters. m. The center has the ability to receive up to a thousand patients per day. In addition, the center can conduct consultative studies, issue opinions, and, if necessary, hold consultations.

"The key difference from the so-called "old polyclinic" is that here we have tried to implement <...> the localized principle of providing medical care in the framework of oncological pathologies," said Arseniy Basov, Deputy Chief Physician for the Medical Department of the Advisory and Diagnostic Center of the N.N. Blokhin National Research Medical Center of Oncology.

Now patients can receive a large number of necessary medical services — from an initial appointment with an oncologist to a number of diagnostic tests — within one wing of the floor.

The main purpose of opening a consultative and diagnostic center is the convenience of the patient, so that in a short time it would be possible to diagnose an oncological patient and begin the treatment process.

Earlier, on January 30, a service for notifying relatives of patients in intensive care was launched in Moscow hospitals. Since the launch of the service last summer, about 120 thousand messages have been sent, indicating the patient's key health indicators and a conclusion on the dynamics of his condition: temperature, pulse, blood pressure, saturation, heart rate. The daily report also notes whether the patient is conscious or connected to a ventilator.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
