- The Russian Orthodox Church awarded the medal to the correspondent of "Izvestia" Alexei Poltoranin
Alexey Poltoranin, a war correspondent for Izvestia, was awarded the medal of the Church Order of the Holy Prince Dimitri Donskoy. This was reported on September 8 in the Telegram channel of the Synodal Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies.
In addition, VGTRK presenter Roman Antonovsky and Italian journalist Vittorio Rangeloni were also awarded patriarchal diplomas.
"Your work is fraught with real danger to life. These awards are also because you show the life of the church and the work of our military priests. And this is really very, very important," said Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk, chairman of the department.
Earlier, on July 23, Izvestia correspondent Yevgeny Bykovsky was awarded for covering the work of military investigators in the special military operation zone. He became the winner in the nomination "The best work on revealing the individual image of an investigator."
