Rallies in support of Vucic were held in Belgrade
Thousands of people took to the streets of Belgrade in support of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. This was reported to Izvestia on September 7 by journalist Sergey Petrov.
Rallies were held in the country in support of the current president and the Serbian Progressive Party. Similar actions are taking place in more than 100 cities across Serbia.
"Even in the small Borca district of Belgrade, which is located across the Danube, an incredible number of people gathered. It is here that the president is expected to arrive and deliver a speech," the correspondent noted.
On September 1, several central streets were blocked in Belgrade amid regular protests, and the city was "stuck in traffic jams." The march was organized jointly with students and students of secondary educational institutions. The protest action is of a memorial nature, since that day marked 10 months since the tragedy in Novi Sad.
Anti-government protests began after 15 people died in the collapse of the railway station in Novi Sad in November 2024. The protesters blocked bridges and roads.
