The contest for the best eco-initiatives among young people was launched by the New People party

The New People Party, together with the Ecosphere Foundation, announced the Chistonashe competition for environmental initiatives among young people. Alexey Nechaev, the head of the New People faction, told Izvestia about this on September 7.

"We are announcing the Chistonashe competition for young environmentalists who have initiatives related to nature conservation and what can be done for our country," he said.

The winners of this competition will receive a grant for implementation. According to Nechaev, there are already many examples of such initiatives. For example, in the Tomsk branch, Mark Ivanov offered to help families where there are not enough toys by organizing the continuation of life for things — now people rent them out, sometimes they exchange toys.

"And it went all over the country. A year ago, the Zero Waste program was born in Omsk, and today it is also being implemented in half of the country," said the head of the New People faction.

The ecological festival takes place in nine Russian cities at once, where the issue of nature conservation is most acute. For example, in Moscow, educational workshops on proper garbage sorting are held for all visitors. You can also buy eco-friendly recyclables there, exchange unnecessary items, and even choose a pet from a shelter based on a photo.

On August 22, on the Day of the National Flag of Russia, an All-Russian environmental campaign "Peculiarities of national cleaning" was held in Sevastopol near the Sapun Gora memorial complex. The event was organized by the Compass Foundation and is aimed at increasing people's attention to environmental issues. The action was attended by representatives of the Association of Special Military Operations (SVO) for the protection of Donbass, top officials of the region, as well as schoolchildren and students.
