About 300 protesters were detained in London after 1.5 thousand people took to Parliament Square, despite the ban on demonstrations in support of the Palestine Action movement. This was reported on September 6 by The Guardian newspaper.

According to police, the arrests were made "for a number of offenses, including assaulting a police officer and expressing support for a banned organization." The department noted that the officers were subjected to "an exceptional level of abuse, including hitting, spitting and throwing objects."

The organization "Protect our Jurors", which organized the action, accused the police of excessive brutality.

"Officers brutally attacked peaceful demonstrators, including elderly people, to try to arrest more than 1,000 people for holding cardboard posters," the movement said.

Steve Masters, a 55-year-old British Air Force veteran, was among the detainees.

"They lowered the bar of what terrorism is and almost made it meaningless," he said, stressing that he was protesting "against genocide and excessive government interference."

Earlier in the day, anti-government protests were reported in Serbia, where more than 150 police officers were injured and 42 protesters were detained. The Interior Minister noted that 18 cars of law enforcement officers were damaged, one service pistol was taken from a policeman.
