Slovakia adheres to a constructive approach in relations with Russia. This was stated on September 6 by the country's Prime Minister Robert Fico in the program "Saturday dialogues", broadcast on the YouTube channel STVR – politické debaty.

"We have a constructive approach to Russia, and we are interested in getting things started as soon as possible after the end of the armed conflict," the Prime Minister said.

Fico added that Western politicians "shout all sorts of moral appeals," but their companies continue to operate in Russia. In addition, he stressed that Russia continues to be the second largest supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Europe.

In this context, according to him, moral issues and business issues are different things.

Earlier, on September 2, Fico expressed Slovakia's interest in standardizing relations with Russia at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the Slovak Prime Minister, the countries should continue to cooperate with Moscow, including in the field of caring for military graves.
