In Yemen, the Houthis were accused of producing chemical weapons.
The Houthis began producing chemical weapons using materials smuggled from Iran. This was stated on September 4 by Yemen's Information Minister Muammar al-Iryani in an interview with the Emirati newspaper The National.
"The Houthi militia has set up a chemical weapons production plant," al—Iryani said, citing intelligence sources.
According to the minister, work on chemical weapons is allegedly conducted under the guidance of Iranian experts.
According to the newspaper, the statement by a Yemeni government official was the first direct accusation of this kind. Muammar al-Iryani added that the militias have already begun preparing materials, as well as installing them on ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Earlier, on August 30, the head of the political council of the Houthi rebel movement Ansar Allah, Mahdi al-Mashat, threatened Israel with the onset of "dark days" after the death of the movement's prime minister, Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahavi. He promised that the Houthis' revenge on Tel Aviv "will not abate." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in turn, announced his intention to eliminate all remaining members of the Houthi leadership.
