- Cosmonaut Peskov spoke about the differences in cosmonaut training on the SpaceX spacecraft
The preparation of astronauts for flights on the spacecraft of the American company SpaceX differs from the preparation on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft in the approach to technical training. Kirill Peskov, a member of the ISS-73 crew and crew specialist of the Crew-10 mission of the Crew Dragon spacecraft, Roscosmos cosmonaut, told about this on September 3, answering a question from Izvestia.
"If our focus is on a more in—depth study of the ship's systems, then SpaceX did not give us such in-depth knowledge, but in general, the training was also quite serious," he explained.
Peskov added that due to the lack of in-depth immersion in the spacecraft's systems, preparations for the flight took less time.
The crew of Crew-10 arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) on March 16 and returned to Earth on August 9. Russian cosmonaut Peskov spent just under five months in orbit, and this was his first flight in his career. It was noted that NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nicole Ayers, and JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi also returned to Earth.
