The Russian stock market showed a decline at the beginning of the Friday morning session, losing 0.8%. This is evidenced by the data of the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The ruble index of the Moscow Exchange with an additional code (iMOEX2) decreased by 0.73% by 07:10 Moscow time, dropping to 2891.31 points.
Spartak Sobolev, head of Alfa-Forex's Research and Investment Strategies department, told Izvestia on August 25 that the Russian currency is ending the summer trading session at a low activity within the established August corridor of 78.80–81 rubles per dollar, 91.20–95 rubles per euro and 11-11.35 rubles per yuan.
The IMOEX2 index, which takes into account the main and additional sessions of the Moscow Exchange, rose by 1.89% and reached 3000.77 points by the evening of August 18. The last time the indicator rose above this level was on August 15, the day of the US-Russia summit in Alaska.
