Fidan called the crisis in Gaza a "geostrategic problem" of the entire Islamic world.
The observed expansion of the crisis in the Gaza Strip is a common problem for the entire Islamic world. This was announced on August 28 by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the TGRT Haber TV channel.
"Palestine is becoming a geostrategic problem in the Islamic world. It has become clear that Israeli expansionism poses a serious threat to the region. <...> There is currently an awakening in the Islamic world," he said.
Fidan stressed that in order to resolve the current situation, in which the United States cannot openly support Israel, representatives of Arab states with influence in America need to "use their influence" on Washington.
He noted that Arab countries that are not officially affected by the Palestinian-Israeli conflict are not indifferent to the fate of Gaza — they are interested in its speedy conclusion. However, as the minister stressed, at the moment there is no solution that Israel could agree to.
The New York Times (NYT) newspaper learned on the same day that US President Donald Trump discussed the future of Gaza with his son-in-law Jared Kushner and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. It was clarified that Trump did not touch on the fate of the residents themselves, but talked about ways to use the territory they occupied.
At the same time, Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fayon accused the European Union (EU) of insufficient efforts to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. She stressed that the EU "failed to introduce real measures" against Israel, thereby not putting pressure on it.
