- Italy has announced complaints from the Ukrainian Armed Forces about outdated NATO drones
Ukrainian military personnel have complained about "outdated" versions of drones supplied to Kiev by Western countries. The newspaper Corriere della Sera wrote about this on August 26.
"[The drones received from NATO] are useless, they are outdated. Now it is we, Ukrainians, who are training our allies in Europe and the United States in the technologies of a new war in the air. Most of all, we need financial help to buy the best electronics on the market," said Major Serhiy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from the Typhoon special forces battalion.
The Ukrainian serviceman also noted the quality of Russian drones.
"Our cables [optical fibers] are 15 km long, the Russian ones are more than 25 km long, and they are very good at creating mechanisms that paralyze our remote controls. That's the whole difficulty: being one step ahead of the opponent. And it's a very fast process. The mechanism, the weapon that seems crucial today, can become obsolete in just a month. We are constantly chasing each other," he added.
On the same day, Sky News reported on August 26 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were losing their advantage in using drones in the conflict with Russia, while Moscow was improving the type of fiber-optic drones that could not be silenced.
