The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced an attack on an arms depot of the Shiite Hezbollah movement in southern Lebanon. This was announced on August 22 by the press service of the department in the Telegram channel.

"Some time ago, the IDF attacked a Hezbollah weapons depot in the Deir Kifa area of southern Lebanon," the statement said.

According to the army's press service, the presence of a weapons depot is a violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon.

Earlier, on August 21, the IDF announced an attack on Hezbollah facilities and infrastructure in Lebanon. It is clarified that the reason for the attack was a violation of agreements between Israel and Lebanon due to the availability of Hezbollah's appropriate weapons and infrastructure.

At the same time, the IDF launched an offensive on the city of Gaza, located in the Palestinian enclave of the same name. It is noted that Israel currently controls the outskirts of the city.

Also, in preparation for the operation to capture the city of Gaza, the IDF called up 60,000 military personnel from the reserve and extended the service life of 20,000 reservists. The operation was called "Gideon's Chariots – 2".
