Roscosmos shared footage of mice flying on the Bion-M satellite.
On August 22, the Roscosmos state Corporation shared footage from the boxes with mice sent into space on the Bion-M spacecraft No. 2.
It is specified that a total of 75 mice and 1.5 thousand fruit flies were sent on the satellite. They will spend 30 days in space aboard the Bion-M.
As the press service of the state corporation notes, for the first time scientists are investigating the influence of a weakened magnetic field over the poles of the Earth. The results of the experiment will help in the development of methods to protect and ensure the safety of manned space expeditions to the Moon and Mars.
On August 20, the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with the Bion-M biological satellite No. 2 launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome. It was specified that the biosatellite will also deliver plants and microorganisms into orbit.
