The all-wheel drive seven-seat crossover Tenet T8 will enter the Russian market in two trim levels. On August 21, representatives of Tenet Rus shared with Izvestia details about the equipment of the new product, which will be put on the assembly line of the AGR Holding plant in the Kaluga Region, where Volkswagen cars were previously produced. Prices and dates for the start of sales have not yet been announced.

The Tenet T8 will be offered with an alternative two-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 197 hp (375 Nm) paired with a seven-speed "robot". Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 8.4 seconds, with a top speed of 210 km/h. Fuel consumption is 8.8 liters per 100 km. The length of the car is 4725 mm with a wheelbase of 2710 mm, ground clearance is 196 mm. There are six settings for the operation of the all-wheel drive system. The volume of the luggage compartment varies from 193 liters to 1930 liters.

The basic package includes, among other things, 18-inch wheels, diode optics, a panoramic roof, an all-round viewing system and parking sensors, six airbags, light and rain sensors, an electric handbrake, dual-zone climate control with air filtration, and eight Sony audio speakers. There are two separate screens in the cabin — a central 15.6-inch and a 10.3-inch digital dashboard.

The second and top-end versions of the Tenet T8 have 19-inch wheels, the front seats are equipped with ventilation, and the number of speakers has been expanded to 10. The complex of driver's assistants has been supplemented (including blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control), there is an outdoor backlight under the mirrors and door sills in front, wireless charging for a smartphone, a projection display and deflectors of the third row of seats.

Full-cycle production of Tenet cars started at the Kaluga plant AGR Holding (formerly Volkswagen) in August. The first model to hit the assembly line was the Tenet T7 crossover, which premiered on August 7. The Tenet brand was created specifically for the Russian market. At the first stage, the model range will include four crossovers: one B- and C-class model each, as well as two D-class SUVs. Tenet cars are based on Chery models.

The day before, it was reported that the Moskvich automobile plant may release a new crossover based on the British-Chinese MG brand model. With a body length of 4655 mm and a wheelbase of 2765 mm, the MG HS in the model range of the Russian brand can be located between the Moskvich 3 and the new Moskvich 8.
