Planes of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck near the Al-Sabra clinic in Gaza. This was announced on August 21 by the Quds News Network (QNN) agency in its Telegram channel.

"Occupation planes are carrying out an airstrike on the vicinity of the Al-Sabra clinic south of Gaza City," the report said.

On August 20, the IDF launched an offensive on Gaza City, located in the Palestinian enclave of the same name. It is noted that the IDF currently controls the outskirts of the city. The Palestinian Hamas movement said that the IDF ignored the efforts of the mediators for a cease-fire and prisoner exchange.

Earlier, on August 20, in preparation for the operation to capture the city of Gaza, the IDF called up 60,000 soldiers from the reserve and extended the service life of 20,000 reservists. The operation was called "Gideon's Chariots – 2". It was clarified that Katz, after approving the plan, stated that "with the completion of the operation, Gaza will change its appearance and will no longer look the way it did in the past."

On August 8, the Israeli Security Cabinet approved Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to occupy Gaza. The next day, thousands of people protested in Tel Aviv against the Israeli Prime minister's plan to seize the Gaza Strip.
