Greece has no plans to send troops to Ukraine if it is provided with security guarantees. This was stated by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Greece Pavlos Marinakis in an interview with Skai TV channel, which was broadcast on their Youtube channel.

"We, like other states, will be ready to answer the question of how we will help in such a case, but not with the help of troops," Marinakis stressed.

The deployment of peacekeeping forces to the region is linked to the next stage of consultations on security guarantees. Each state will decide for itself what to do, and therefore any discussions are premature, the representative of the Cabinet explained.

On the same day, political analyst Alexander Asafov told Izvestia that European leaders were speculating about providing Ukraine with security guarantees "similar to the fifth article of NATO" and giving different signals. The expert noted that the introduction of foreign troops into Ukraine contradicts its constitution.

The Euractiv portal reported on August 4 that the European Union fears a prolonged shortage of air defense forces in its reserves due to the transfer of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine. EU countries expect prompt supplies from the United States, as European arsenals have already been depleted by previous donations to Ukraine.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
