Two adults and a child died in a fire in the Kurgan region.

In the village of Chashi, Kurgan region, three people, including a one-and-a-half-year-old child, died as a result of a fire in a private house. This was reported on August 20 in the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"After extinguishing the fire, during an inspection of the scene, the bodies of three people were found — two adults and a one-and-a-half-year-old child. Four more children were visiting their grandmother at that moment," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

According to preliminary data, the fire started from a smoldering sofa, which the children set on fire during a prank. The adults tried to extinguish the fire with water, but at night the furniture caught fire again. A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence to two or more persons").

As a result of a fire in an apartment building in the village of Krasnogorye in the Kotelnicheskiy district of the Kirov region, four people died on the night of August 19. Law enforcement officers are conducting a check and establishing the causes and circumstances of the incident.
