In New Zealand, law enforcement officials identified the first spy in the country's history, and the court found him guilty. The Guardian newspaper writes about this on August 19.

"A military court has found a New Zealand soldier guilty of attempted espionage for a foreign state. This is the first guilty verdict in a case of espionage in the country's history," the article says.

It is noted that the man provided a representative of an unnamed country with an assessment of the vulnerabilities of the Linton military camp, as well as access codes and information that would allow unauthorized access to the camp and the nearby Ohakea air base. During a search of the man's house, ammunition was found, as well as a computer disk with a video recording of the shooting at the Christchurch mosque and the shooter's manifesto.

In addition, in the testimony written by the soldier and read out by his lawyer in court, he confessed to belonging to the extremist groups Action Zealandia and Dominion Movement.

On May 1, the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) posted a Chinese-language video on its social networks calling on Chinese officials to spy for Washington. Representatives of the agency also attached a link through which Chinese officials can contact the CIA.
