Apple will not release the iPhone 18 launch smartphone in 2026
Apple may postpone the release of the iPhone 18 smartphone in 2026. This was reported on August 17 by the South Korean publication ETNews.
"Apple will not release the standard iPhone 18 model (tentative name) next year. With the release of the foldable iPhone, Apple has reportedly reorganized its lineup and changed the release schedule for standard iPhones.
It is noted that Apple will change its smartphone lineup to release the initial iPhone 17e model and the standard model together in the first half of the year 2026. According to ETNews, such changes are also related to Apple's plan to release a folding iPhone next year.
"Apple's strategy of increasing the number of models released in the first half of the year and introducing high—end products in the second half is aimed at increasing iPhone sales," the publication clarifies.
Earlier, on August 1, it was reported that the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump would result in costs for Apple and could cost almost $2 billion. Apple CEO Tim Cook said that, in his opinion, the duties imposed caused the greatest damage at the beginning of the year, when Trump began his trade standoff with China.
On May 23, Trump threatened Apple with the imposition of duties of 25% for iPhone phones sold by them that were not manufactured in the United States. He stressed that he had repeatedly asked Cook to move the production of these gadgets to the United States.
