In the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), more than 40 industrial enterprises are ready to distribute water to residents for free amid the water supply crisis, Denis Pushilin, the head of the region, said on August 18.

He noted that the DPR authorities, together with the federal center, continue to take measures to solve the problem of acute water shortage.

"Business owners are also involved in this work. I know at least 42 industrial enterprises that are ready to distribute water to residents for free," Pushilin said in his Telegram channel.

In this regard, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the DPR was instructed to provide assistance to all responding enterprises, as well as provide information to the public about addresses and a schedule when they will be able to receive water.

At a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin on August 4, Pushilin called the provision of water to the region the most difficult issue. According to him, a water pipeline has been built in the region, which currently consistently produces 250 thousand cubic meters. Work is currently underway to enhance cleaning of riverbeds, water intake and congestion monitoring.
