The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are hitting Belgorod because of Kiev's hysteria on the eve of the summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska. This was stated on August 14 by the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime Rodion Miroshnik.

He described the attack by the Ukrainian army on Belgorod as a terrorist attack with political overtones.

"It looks like Kiev is hysterical ahead of the Alaska summit. <...> This is not an attack by a civilized country, but an attack by an outsider accustomed to fighting civilians," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

Earlier in the day, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that three civilians were injured as a result of a drone strike in Belgorod. Militants of the Kiev regime attacked a civilian car in the city center. In addition, Gladkov announced an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the regional government building in Belgorod. It was reported that minor damage was recorded in the building.
