- The Russian Foreign Ministry will work out a response to the expulsion of a Russian diplomat from Estonia
The expulsion of a Russian diplomat from Estonia and the declaration of his persona non grata is not the first hostile action on the part of Tallinn against Russia, it will be answered. This was announced on August 13 by the Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Press Russian Foreign Ministry Alexey Fadeev.
"This is not the first such hostile action by Estonia. I must say that we have even been used to this for a long time," he said during a briefing.
Fadeev noted that returning Russian diplomats find a more useful use for themselves within the walls of the Russian Foreign Ministry. According to him, Russia will take retaliatory steps to Estonia's actions, the agency will inform about them later.
Earlier in the day, the Estonian Foreign Ministry announced that it was expelling a Russian diplomat, the first secretary of the Russian Embassy in Tallinn, and declaring him persona non grata. The ministry stressed that the diplomat allegedly participated in undermining the constitutional order of Estonia and splitting Estonian society.
