The Russian government will allocate 52 billion rubles for the formation of long-term savings of citizens of the country. This was announced on August 12 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a cabinet meeting.

"Starting in 2025, the government has provided for the possibility of co-financing from the state up to 36 thousand rubles per year. Today we will allocate about 52 billion rubles for these purposes," Mishustin said, his words are quoted on the government's website.

The Russian Prime Minister expressed the hope that thanks to such a partnership, citizens will be able to increase their capital, as well as receive additional income.

Earlier that day, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Babakov proposed introducing a basic income for Russian citizens. He clarified that it is possible to achieve a basic income with a fundamental change in monetary policy. According to the MP, it is impossible to ensure technological sovereignty with cheap wages.
