Zelensky pointed to a real chance of achieving peace in Ukraine
Currently, there is a real chance to achieve peace on the territory of Ukraine. This was announced on August 11 by President Vladimir Zelensky following talks with Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
"Now is the moment when there is a real chance to achieve peace. But the world must be fair and stable, and security must be guaranteed. This is important not only for Ukraine, but for every European country," Zelensky wrote on his Telegram channel.
He added that he had informed the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia about contacts with Western partners and work on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
On the same day, Peter Marcek, an ex-member of the Slovak parliament, said in an interview with Izvestia that Ukraine would not play a special role in a peaceful settlement, since the main agreement should be reached between the Russian and American presidents. According to the politician, it is important for US President Donald Trump to understand that the Russian Federation will never agree to Kiev's accession to NATO and will monitor the observance of the rights of Russian citizens living in Ukraine.
