With the arrival of a child in the family, parents' criteria for choosing almost all household goods change. According to a study by experts of the HYUNDAI brand of household appliances and electronics, two thirds of parents choose models with a lock against accidental touch, and 57% pay attention to the presence of a special mode with a reduced noise level. The data was reviewed by Izvestia on August 12.

According to the study, more than half of the respondents (51%) admitted that they began to clean much more often. Washing machines and dryers are the most popular — 68% of families have increased their use. There was also a noticeable increase in demand for vertical and cleaning vacuum cleaners, which were used 37% more often, and dishwashers, which grew in popularity by 30%.

Parents pay special attention to creating a comfortable microclimate. 40% of respondents started actively using humidifiers and air cleaners, and 32% switched to eco-friendly and hypoallergenic cleaning products.

Safety of appliances comes to the fore, as 63% of parents choose appliances with protection against accidental switching on, 60% pay attention to the auto-off function, and 46% take into account protection against burns, such as the triple glass of the oven or the double walls of the kettle.

Additional functions became important criteria: for 57% of buyers, quiet operation is essential, 45% are looking for equipment with express programs, and 38% appreciate special children's and hypoallergenic modes.

The changes also affected eating habits: 43% of families began to order food with delivery more often, especially among young parents under the age of 25. 39% have changed their approach to cooking by choosing simpler recipes. They are helped by slow cookers, which are used by 52% of respondents, blenders (50%) and microwaves (35%).

"With the advent of children in the house, parents become more demanding when choosing household appliances. After all, in a home with children, every minute is doubly appreciated, and the additional functions of technology become not just a convenience, but a real guarantee of peace of mind for the whole family," said Alexander Galkin, product director of the HYUNDAI brand.

In addition, 61% of consumers still consider the availability of technology, 56% are willing to pay more for additional features useful for children, and 16% consider safety more important than price.

When choosing equipment, 57% of Russians study reviews on social networks and forums, 48% consult with relatives, 55% trust trusted brands, and 42% rely on expert reviews.

Earlier, on August 11, Alexander Galkin, product director of the STARWIND brand, in an interview with Izvestia, named the main mistakes of Russians when using gardening equipment. According to him, one of the common mistakes is ignoring instructions. Equipment owners often rely on their own experience, which can lead to improper assembly and the use of unsuitable fuel.
