Residential buildings collapsed in Turkey due to earthquake, the consequences were captured on video

In Turkey, an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred in the Syndyrgy district of Balikesir province, as a result of which 16 buildings were destroyed. This was reported on August 11 by NTV TV channel with reference to local authorities.

Among the destroyed buildings, 12 were abandoned. As a result of the earthquake, 29 people were injured. An 81-year-old man, who was pulled out from under the rubble, died in hospital.

After the main shock, 237 aftershocks occurred, the earthquake was located at a depth of 11 km.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred on July 18 in the resort town of Antalya in Turkey. No data on casualties or damage was provided, and no tsunami threat was announced.
