Residents of Adygea complain massively about producers of burnt coal
Since the beginning of 2025, residents of Adygea settlements have sent nine collective appeals asking entrepreneurs to ban burning coal near their settlements, the Department for Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of the republic told Izvestia.
"Complaints were sent by residents of Tabachny and Krasnooktyabrsky villages, Novosvobodnaya and Kurdzhipskaya villages," they said.
The department noted that it regularly conducts inspections in the territory of the Maikop district. When experts detect smoke or record coal production activities, they send reports "to the appropriate authorities to take action within their authority."
As a resident of the village of Novosvobodnaya told Izvestia, because of charcoal burners, thick acrid smoke is in the air in the evenings.
"It's hard to sleep with the windows closed, you have to open them and breathe burning. And when the smell of burning is strong, it even makes my throat itch," she said.
The ministry added that in 2024, seven entrepreneurs who burned coal in the Maikop district were brought to administrative responsibility. But production on agricultural plots in Adygea continues to this day. At the end of July 2025, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, promised to take control of the situation.
