The United States has made an offer to Russia for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump, which Moscow considers acceptable. This was announced by Russian President Yuri Ushakov to journalists on August 7.
"There was a proposal from the Americans, which seems to us quite acceptable," he said.
The day before, Trump said during a speech in the Oval Office of the White House that there are good prospects for a meeting with Putin. In addition, he expressed hope for an early meeting between Putin and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
Prior to this, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that in the coming days it is possible to hold telephone talks between Trump and Putin. He added that there is currently no scheduled call between the leaders.
