Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) may become a suitable venue for a summit between Russia and the United States. He told reporters about this on August 7 after meeting with UAE Leader Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the Kremlin.
"We have many friends who are ready to help us organize an event of this kind. One of my friends is the President of the United Arab Emirates," he said.
The Russian leader added that although a final decision has yet to be made, the UAE is one of the most suitable venues for the summit.
The day before, Trump said during a speech in the Oval Office of the White House that there are good prospects for a meeting with Putin. In addition, he expressed hope for an early meeting between Putin and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on August 7 that Russia and the United States had agreed on a meeting between Putin and Trump in the coming days. He noted that the parties have already started working out arrangements for a meeting between the two leaders.
