Belarus is alarmed by the aggressive attitude of Poland and the Baltic states. This was stated on August 7 by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting on the activities of the country's State Security Committee (KGB).

"It is alarming that our neighbors Poland and the Baltic states are very terribly aggressive towards Belarus. Pressure is being applied in all directions," the BelTA news agency quoted him as saying.

The Belarusian leader clarified that special services feel this pressure most of all. Lukashenko added that for this reason he pays close attention to the work of the KGB and the security unit.

Press secretary of the Ministry Ruslan Varankov of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus announced on August 5 that the ministry had summoned the Charge d'affaires of Poland in connection with the planned anti-Belarusian rally in Warsaw. According to him, it will be held on August 9-10, on Pilsudski Square, as well as at the University of Warsaw, where the event is scheduled. The purpose of this action is to damage Belarus.
