Sergey Ryzhikov assumed command of the ISS

Sergey Ryzhikov became the commander of the International Space Station (ISS). This was announced on August 5 in the Telegram channel of the Roscosmos state Corporation.

"Today, Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergei Ryzhikov took command of the ISS from JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi. <...> The Roscosmos cosmonaut will remain commander of the ISS until his return in December," the material says.

Roscosmos added that the commander is responsible for the flight program, crew management and alerting Control Centers about emergency situations.
