VTB Bank has reduced the market mortgage rate by two percentage points, now the minimum rate is 23.3% per annum. The corresponding statement was published on the official website of the organization on August 5.

"VTB announces a reduction in market mortgage rates by two percentage points from August 5. New conditions for the bank's basic programs (taking into account all current discounts): from 23.3% per annum — for the purchase of apartments and apartments in the primary and secondary markets, from 23.9% per annum — for individual housing construction," the report says.

The bank noted that by the end of this year, government-supported programs that provide a significant portion of new loans will remain the key driver of the mortgage market. In addition, it is specified that as a result of policy easing, a gradual leveling off of the market situation is expected.

VTB also estimated the market volume of mortgage loans at the end of this year at about 4.04 trillion rubles, previously this amount was 3.8 trillion rubles.

On July 25, the Central Bank of Russia lowered its key rate to 18% per annum. According to the regulator's forecast, annual inflation will decrease to 6-7% this year, and in 2026 it will return to 4%.
