More than half of the residents of Germany were dissatisfied with the activities of the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on August 2, citing survey data.

"The agreement (a trade deal between the European Union and the United States. — Ed.), accordingly, negatively affects the satisfaction with the work of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. 31% of Germans are satisfied with her work, but 51% are dissatisfied. 18% of respondents found it difficult to answer," the publication says.

It is noted that a year earlier, von der Leyen's approval rate was higher at 35%. Also, 66% of German residents said that the trade agreement with the United States harms the German economy.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, speaking at the Free University in Transylvania on July 26, said that if he were Ursula von der Leyen, he would resign or restructure the EU structure. Orban also added that he would initiate the creation of "concentric circles" in the European Union.
