Trump declared the ineffectiveness of imposing anti-Russian sanctions
After the expiration of the 10-day period, the United States will impose anti-Russian sanctions that will not affect the situation with Ukraine. This was announced on July 31 by the American leader Donald Trump.
"Yes, we will impose sanctions. I don't know if they bother him (Russian President Vladimir Putin. — Ed.). They know about the sanctions. I'm the best judge of sanctions and duties and everything else," he said during a conversation with reporters at the White House.
Trump noted that the imposition of sanctions against Russia is unlikely to have an impact on Russia's position and the situation with the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. He also pointed out that the introduction of such sanctions would be ineffective.
The New York Post reported on July 30 that both houses of the American parliament are ready to adopt a bill on the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions if Trump gives it the green light. U.S. State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said on July 29 that the country had taken into account all possible negative consequences from the imposition of secondary sanctions against Russia and its trading partners.
On July 14, Trump announced his intention to impose 100% secondary duties on Russia if the Ukrainian conflict is not resolved in 50 days. Later, on July 28, he announced that he had reduced this period to 10-12 days.
