The Arab League and a number of European countries have approved the UN declaration on the revival of the two—state solution of Palestine and Israel, and for the first time called on the Hamas movement to relinquish power in Gaza in order to achieve peace in the territory. This was reported on July 30 by France 24 TV channel.

"For the first time, Arab and Middle Eastern countries are condemning Hamas, condemning the events of October 7, calling for the disarmament of Hamas, demanding its exclusion from the Palestinian government, and clearly expressing their intention to normalize relations with Israel in the future," French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barraud said in a statement.

They clarified that Egypt, Qatar and Saudi Arabia were among those who approved this "historic and unprecedented" declaration.

It is noted that according to the text of the document, Hamas must transfer its weapons to the Palestinian Authority with international support in order for a sovereign Palestinian State to be established on the territory they occupy.

On July 22, Izvestia's diplomatic source in Israel announced the intention of the Israeli authorities to discuss the possibility of transferring control of the Gaza Strip to those local structures that will not be associated with Hamas in order to give them a chance for self-government.
