Roscosmos CEO visits Johnson Space Center in USA
On the first day of his working visit to the United States, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Bakanov visited the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, where he got acquainted with NASA technologies. This was announced on July 29 by the press service of Roscosmos.
The organization clarified that the Russian delegation visited the flight control center (MCC) of the American segment of the International Space Station (ISS), where Bakanov met with employees of the main operational mission control group of the Russian segment of the station, the space nutrition laboratory and the building with simulators of the Russian and American segments of the ISS.
The provided footage shows that portrait images of Russian representatives of the space industry, one of the founders of practical cosmonautics, designer of rocket and space systems Sergei Korolev and Soviet cosmonaut, the first man in Space Yuri Gagarin, hang on the walls of the buildings of the American Space Center.
In addition, as noted in the publication, the leadership of Roscosmos met with three Russian cosmonauts who are currently preparing for flights — Sergey Kurd-Sverchkov, Sergey Mikaev and Peter Dubrov.
On July 28, Roscosmos announced that a Russian delegation led by Bakanov had arrived in the United States to meet with acting head of NASA Sean Duffy. It was noted that the visit was the first since 2018.
