The standard traveler is 38.5 years old, she spends an average of about 16 hours on the road, previously she had a vacation in August, and this year it shifted to June-July.

54.5% of train passengers are women. They are often the main organizers of family holidays and everyday life, said Anastasia Helemelya, a family psychologist.

"The train is perceived as a predictable, reliable and often more budget-friendly option, especially when transporting family or luggage. This meets the need for control and efficient use of resources. The relative sense of safety in the compartment, the ability to move around the carriage safely, the availability of a toilet and water are important factors, especially for travelers with children or alone," she explained.

For women 35-45 years old, who often balance between work, family and home, a long train ride can be a rare opportunity for "forced rest", that is, a kind of psychological respite.
