In the autumn of 2025, Russians are actively planning to travel within the country, and the largest increase in early bookings for this period is in the Vladimir region, which is 130% year-on-year. The demand for trips to Yaroslavl, Samara and Tula regions, as well as Tatarstan, has doubled. Abroad, travelers choose Italy, France and Turkey. At the same time, the cost of trips both to domestic destinations and abroad increased insignificantly — by 5-12%, depending on the city and country.

Where will the Russians go

The regions of Central Russia and Tatarstan have become the fastest growing autumn destinations for tourists, booking services told Izvestia. According to the platform Bronevik.com (part of the MTS ecosystem), which analyzed demand for autumn 2025 (from mid—September to the end of November), the largest increase was recorded in the Vladimir region - by 130% year-on-year.

The demand for trips to the Yaroslavl Region doubled, to Samara Region by 86%, and to Tula Region by 84%. Tatarstan also showed significant growth — by 77%.

— The tourist attractiveness of locations in Central Russia is growing due to convenient transport accessibility for residents of neighboring regions, primarily the capital. It is also important that trips to these destinations allow you to save on air travel. Demand is also spurring the development of infrastructure and event tourism — festivals, themed routes, the company said.

In terms of the number of bookings, the traditionally popular destinations are Krasnodar Krai, Moscow and the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Tatarstan and the Kaliningrad Region. The average duration of an autumn trip is three days, and the cost per night is 6,8 thousand rubles.

According to the Tutu travel service, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, and Rostov-on-Don became the most popular destinations for hotel reservations during the off-season.

"During the off—season, almost 80% of the tickets purchased are on domestic flights, about 20% on international flights," added Olga Kotelnikova, head of the marketing analysis department at the service.

Russia is actively buying air tickets to Kaliningrad, Sochi, St. Petersburg, Makhachkala and Mineralnye Vody. During the off-season, Russians will travel by train to Moscow, Krasnodar Territory and St. Petersburg.

According to "Fly.<url>", the level of demand for trips with arrivals from September 15 to November 30 is now 51.2% higher than in 2024. In addition to the Krasnodar Territory and Kaliningrad, Crimea is also popular.

The popularity of domestic destinations

Yaroslavl and Vladimir are part of the Golden Ring — this is a destination that does not lose popularity and is consistently among the leaders in sales of sightseeing tours in Russia, the press service of the national tour operator Alean noted.

Yaroslavl is the capital of the Golden Ring, and many river cruises start from here, and there is also the village of Vyatskoye, a large tourist complex that attracts with the atmosphere of an ancient village and a variety of activities: from a cucumber pickling workshop to a Russian bathhouse and interactive museums for children and adults demonstrating merchant and peasant life of the XVIII century.Of the 19th century, they said.

In Tatarstan, travelers are interested in the national cuisine and a large number of tourist sites: the Kazan Kremlin, the Kul Sharif Mosque and many others.

The tours also include country trips to Sviyazhsk and Raifa. There is also interest in Innopolis. And the Samara region offers holidays on the Zhiguli Sea, which is quite relevant in the summer," the press service added.

The behavior of Russians indicates a rethinking of tourism priorities, said Ekaterina Kosareva, managing partner of the analytical agency VMT Consult. More and more tourists are paying attention not to the hyped resorts, but to places with an atmosphere, history and tranquility.

"This is an internal migration of interest from noisy mass destinations to meaningful recreation: architecture, cultural heritage, local gastronomy, eco—projects and an individual approach to tourists," she said. — At the same time, prices in such regions are often lower than in popular Black Sea resorts, and the quality of service is steadily increasing.

Many of these destinations have long since moved from the status of a day trip to a full-fledged travel product.

In addition, due to the situation in Anapa, some tourists have shifted from the Krasnodar Territory to other domestic destinations, Alean added.

In the Vladimir, Tula, Yaroslavl region, Tatarstan, and Samara region, there are opportunities for sightseeing, country, and recreational recreation. Also, more and more tourists are choosing holidays in their own and neighboring regions and traveling by private car due to the rising cost of the transport component of the tour, they added.

At the same time, interest in foreign trips is still high, Ekaterina Kosareva added. According to her, many people still think that a "real vacation" is somewhere abroad.

Which foreign destinations do tourists choose?

Italy has become the leader among popular foreign destinations, mainly its capital Rome — this city accounts for 4.4% of all orders, said Elena Shelekhova, head of the press service of the OneTwoTrip travel planning service.

Paris is in second place with a 4.2% share," she said. — Over the year, the popularity of the French capital has grown by 20%. Istanbul closes the top three. The last two places, just like a year ago, are occupied by Tokyo and Dubai.

The average cost of daily hotel accommodation increased by 10% — from 13.6 thousand to 14.9 thousand rubles.

In the top 10 destinations, according to "Fly.<url>", Turkey (38% of the total applications), Egypt (16.7%), Thailand (9.5%) and the United Arab Emirates (7.8%) entered for autumn travel. This is followed by Vietnam, China, Abkhazia, Maldives and Cuba.
