- The Russian government has suspended the export of gasoline for producers of petroleum products
The Russian government has decided to temporarily limit the export of gasoline to producers of petroleum products until August. This was announced on July 28 by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"The government has extended restrictions on gasoline exports to direct producers of petroleum products in force until August 31, 2025 (inclusive). The decree on this has been signed," the Russian government's website says.
It is noted that the decision was made in order to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market within the framework of high seasonal demand and agricultural field work.
On July 24, Igbal Guliyev, Dean of the MGIMO Faculty of Financial Economics, Doctor of Economics, told Izvestia that world oil prices had shown growth, helped by fresh data on oil and petroleum products reserves in the United States. According to him, these statistics indicate the continued high demand in the summer season, which has become a key driver of the increase in quotations.
